01

Decide what a good beach day means to you

List what you want within reach: beach access, meals, time at the pool or trips elsewhere on the island. Choose two areas that fit that list and compare a few properties in each. The beach name narrows the search; the property address decides whether the stay really works.

02

Read beach access literally

Check the hotel entrance and the route to the sand. Distinguish a beachfront property from a sea-view room or a shuttle to the beach. Ask about crossings, slopes and steps if these affect your group. For Kata, also distinguish Kata Yai from Kata Noi instead of treating both names as the same location.

03

Plan days beyond your chosen bay

Before booking, sketch an arrival plan and one day out. Confirm the transport arrangement and get a current quote for your dates if a transfer is important to your budget. Avoid building an itinerary around an advertised journey time without checking where the trip begins and ends.

04

Leave room for changing conditions

The Tourism Authority of Thailand advises visitors to observe beach warning flags. Check local conditions during your stay and follow on-site advice. If beach activities are essential to the trip, consider what you would enjoy on a day when those activities cannot go ahead. Compare cancellation conditions before payment.

Your shortlist, checked

  • The exact address works for your daily plans.
  • The room category fits every guest, including children.
  • The total price and inclusions are clear.
  • You have read the cancellation deadline and payment terms.
  • You know which provider handles booking support.
